Ann Arbor The Michigan Wolverines and Texas Longhorns play in a top-10 college football game on Saturday, and two well-known celebrities will be in town.

Will Ferrell is scheduled to appear on ESPN’s “College GameDay,” while Matthew McConaughey will be featured on FOX’s “Big Noon Kickoff” pregame show.

Live feeds for both programs will originate from Michigan’s campus. Visitors are welcome to observe from the sets.

During its initial on-campus presentation late in the 1993 season, GameDay has been at a Michigan game forty times prior to its 16th appearance in Ann Arbor. Desmond Howard, the 1991 Heisman Trophy winner from Michigan, Lee Corso, Nick Saban, Kirk Herbstreit, and Pat McAfee are analysts joining host Rece Davis.

Famously, Corso wears clothing from the school he believes will win the game to cap off each show. Usually, a famous guest selects the outcomes of different games; on Saturday, it will be 28-time Olympian Michael Phelps.

Together with Michigan men’s basketball coach Dusty May, Ferrell, a comedian and USC fan best known for Saturday Night Live and the movies “Anchorman,” “Talladega Nights,” and “Old School,” will also be present on set.

Saturday’s GameDay broadcast will commence at 9 a.m. ET from Ferry Field, which is situated off State Street and encircled by Michigan’s baseball, softball, hockey, volleyball, wrestling, and gymnastics fields and arenas.

The last hour of the presentation will take place inside Michigan Stadium just before 11 a.m., before of the much-awaited battle between third-ranked Texas and No. 10 Michigan. Kickoff is scheduled for 12:10 p.m. on FOX, which will kick off the game at noon.

The broadcast schedule for Big Noon Kickoff is the same as that of GameDay; however, FOX’s program will be held outside on Pioneer High School’s lawn, directly across from the Big House.

The show has been in Ann Arbor for all three of the Ohio State games since it debuted in 2019 in addition to two additional Michigan home games.A “pregame tailgate” is scheduled to begin at 7:30 a.m.

The father of Texas backup quarterback Arch, Derek Jeter, the baseball Hall of Famer who will lead Michigan honorarily, Cooper Manning, and former Michigan standout Chris Webber are among the guests confirmed for the Saturday performance. During the event, rapper Moneybagg Yo will perform.

Also on set will be McConaughey. The actor, Texan, and Texas alumnus is well-known for his parts in the movies “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days,” “Interstellar,” and “Dallas Buyers Club,” for which he received the Academy Award for best actor. Being a devoted Longhorn, McConaughey describes himself as the “minister of culture” at the institution.

For the first time ever, Michigan and Texas will face off during the regular season. Last Saturday, they both prevailed in their season debuts. The Longhorns are ranked third in the country, and the Wolverines are ranked tenth.
